"Willow, I'm sorry about that." |
"I'm happy to see you're enjoying yourself today." |
"Would you please look at me?" |
Okay. It's clear she's losing patience with me again. I better cut to the chase. "Why don't you have a seat, Willow?" |
"Sorry! I'm sorry. I wasn't really laughing at you. You know? I just thought we were having fun." |
"Don't be like that, Willow. I have something I wanted to talk to you about. I think you'll be happy." |
*Laughing - 'cause I can tell she's not actually annoyed with me anymore* |
"No. No. Nothing to be nervous about. Unless you've developed a sudden case of stage fright." |
"Down here, Willow." |
"Of course not! Don't you know me better than that? I know I haven't played your save in a while, but it isn't because I don't care about you as a Sim or a story-character. It's quite the opposite! I want to be able to give your story the attention it deserves, so I'm waiting till I finish with one of my other stories. And by the way, your plumbob is gone for the moment, because there are a couple of other Sims I'm introducing you to today. The first will be here soon, but we've still got time for me to share the big news if you can keep the questions and comments to a minimum. Deal?" |
"So I've just heard about this new collaborative project being put together by some of my friends on the forums. And I think you'd be a perfect fit for my contribution to the project." |
"Willow..." |
"Good. Now -" |
"Here's the deal. This is a month long event. It's not the story I was planning for you originally, but it will still give you the chance to live a little. It called the SIMposium for Game-Aware Sims. All during March different players will be hosting groups of Sims that are gathering to interact with other game-aware Sims. You're going to be one of the hosts here. We have to come up with a theme for our sessions. I'll leave that up to you and your fellow Sim co-hosts. The -" |
"Well, actually there are two other co-hosts coming." |
"Come on. Look on the bright side please. You are getting some play time and story posts out of this. In fact, this whole conversation is going to be in the Prologue I'm writing." |
*Chuckles* |
"Sorry to disappoint, but they're both woman-Sims." |
"I want it to be a surprise. I'm going to let y'all introduce yourselves." |
"Oh hush. You won't have to wait long. Look! Here comes the first now." |
"Yep. Why don't you go introduce yourself?" |
"Yay! Looks like y'all are on your way to becoming friends." |
"It's my theory that sometimes it's best to let people - or Sims - work things out for themselves." |
"Of course!" |
"Well, it looks like you're more like me than I realized. I'll do my absolute best, Karen. Now, if y'all want you can have a seat over there and start brainstorming possible themes for our sessions." |
"Did you ever doubt me? But remember it's not just -" |
"Hey, I was talking! Trying to remind you th -" |
"Can I talk now?" |
"I thought you might like to know, the third co-host just arrived. And she's walking this way. Look." |
*whispers so Ana can't hear* "Yes, please break the news gently!" |
"Yes, Ana. It is. It's nice to finally meet you - or I guess I should say - It's nice that you're finally meeting me." |
"I was a little worried about how you'd take it, myself." |
"About that..." |
"Well I needed to find you your first romantic interest. I didn't know he would react so badly." |
"Well, I was originally going to play a 100 Baby Challenge with you, but -" |
"Well, yes, but I decided that it wasn't the right life for you. I am right in assuming you didn't want quite that many kids?" |
"Ana, I'm so sorry. Please, believe me. We can't say much about it here. We don't want to give spoilers to anyone reading this that hasn't read your story yet." |
"I was just trying to write a heart-felt dramatic story. I didn't know about game-aware Sims back then. Trust me when I say if I ever want to interject that kind of drama into a story again, it will only be will a hologram-Sim, or something. I've tried to make your life a lot happier since then. Do you think you can forgive me?" |
