(**Let me take a minute to thank Jes2G and CathyTea for contribute part of the conversations for their Sims in this Chapter. I'll have others contribute throughout the S-GAS Nature and Science events.**)
Ana: "Karen, why don't you sit down?"
Karen: "I'm too excited and nervous to sit still. Our guests are gonna start showing up any minute now."
Me (Carewren123): "They sure will, but there's no need to be nervous."
Willow: "I just can't wait for everyone to get here. I know we've already started meeting other Sims on other hard-drives, but I can't wait for things to get started here."
Karen: "I guess anxious would be a better word."
Karen: "Wait a minute, so some of the other events have already started? This is so confusing."
Willow: "Don't think about it too hard; all that space-time travel-gallery-something-or-other stuff will just make your head spin, Ana."
Me (Carewren123): "It's not bad advice, Ana. Just trust that I'll make sure you're up to speed with everything by the time this whole S-GAS thing is over. Now, our first guests are walking down the sidewalk now, and I wanted to give you all a head-up. I'm going to keep pretty quiet - some of the other guests are not quite as game aware as others, and of those that are many don't actually talk to their players all that often. Plus this whole event is about you, Game-Aware Sims. It's not about me, so I'm just gonna let y'all do your thing. Okay get ready, cause here comes our first arrivals."
Young Cathy Tea, Elder and their little Freezer-Bunny (from a Houseful of Hippies, one of CathyTea's wonderful wrimmingfun stories ) enter the front cabin. Free-Jon leads the way. The endearing little guy appears to feel immediately at home. Before his parents can so much as say "hello" he sits down next to Ana introduces himself. |
Free-Jon: "Ana Pringle, right? My mom told me lots about you. I sure wish I'd been there for Plum Day, sounded like fun. So are your boobs that big because you've had like a gajillion kids?"
Elder: "Son, remember how we talked about considering other people's feelings before asking certain questions..."
Free-Jon blinks innocently.
Ana: "Actually it's okay. Luckily, Free-Jon, you're right and I do have lots of kids - 9 to be exact. And I don't embarrass too easily any more. You actually remind me a little of my oldest son, Aaron. He used to ask lots of questions too."
Free-Jon: "Hey, cool! Is he around here somewhere? Think he wants to play explorers or something?"
Ana: "No, none of my children are here. I guess I'm sort of on vacation, but if little Emma was here, I know she'd like to play explorers or any other game your imagination could dream up...."
Meanwhile, Karen had struck up a conversation with Cathy as soon as she walked through the front door. They had missed that whole conversation. |
Karen: "You know you're the first Simself I've met?"
Cathy listens while admiring the log cabin-like decorations.
Karen: "And you're not even your player's only Simself, are you? That's got to be strange, right?"
Cathy: "Well maybe a little if we were to all meet, but we each have our individuality. I know I'm uniquely me - and now I have my own unique little family. None of the other Cathy Teas are the same me, nor I am the same as them... But at the same time we're all connected at that's a pretty amazing thing."
After a few more minutes of friendly conversation the Wolff-Teas decided to go see their cabin and the rest of the lodge's grounds.
Elder: "We're in Cabin #3, right?"
Cathy: "Elder, Free-Jon, just look at this place!"
They all pause to breath in the fresh air and take in the beautiful scenery.
Free-Jon: "Mom, Dad is that some sort of tree-house? Can we climb it? Pleeeeasssse?"
Cathy: "Yes, but let's have a look at our cabin first."
Free-Jon: "Okay. Race you!"

Free-Jon: "Can I ask you something, Dad?"
Elder: "Always."
Free-Jon: "You didn't think I should have asked Ana about her boobs do you? What's wrong with that question? I was just curious."
Cathy: "What?!!"
Elder: "I think our son made a pretty bold first impression. What you have to understand, Free-Jon, is that sometimes people can get embarrassed when someone asks questions or makes comments about their personal appearance. Next time try to consider their feelings before asking anything like that."
Elder: "Always."

Free-Jon: "Okay, I'll try. Can we go climb to the top of the tree now?"
Cathy: "One more minute let us look around. Look Free-Jon there's a toy on the table, I bet that's for you. And here's a violin for me -"
Elder: "And a ball of clay for me!"
Cathy: "One more minute let us look around. Look Free-Jon there's a toy on the table, I bet that's for you. And here's a violin for me -"

The tour of the cabin was quite short, since the guest cabins are all small (but cozy). Each cabin is made up of just a single bedroom and bathroom. But there is plenty to do outside. The Wolff-Teas waste no more time and climb to the top of the tree-platform that dominates the lot.
Cathy is taken with the view and immediately starts a new painting on the easel situated at the top. After taking in his fill of the view, Elder sits on the log bench to relax and to mold something out of the clay. As for Free-Jon, he has just one thought at the moment.
Free-Jon: "This is the most awesome tree-fort ever!"
Free-Jon: "This is the most awesome tree-fort ever!"
As the Wolff-Teas were exploring the grounds the next guest made his arrival.
Karen: "Ana, Willow... I think our next guest is here... And I think he's trying to scare the gnomes."
Karen: "Ana, Willow... I think our next guest is here... And I think he's trying to scare the gnomes."
Willow: "Nonsense. That's just Bill Monaghan. He might act a little odd sometimes, but I think it's just because he has a lot of creative ideas bouncing around in his head... Like his player; You know he writes Le Dynastie d'Angers, right? Go on out and invite him in."
Karen: "Welcome to the Lodge-Podge Lodge Mr. Mona -"
Karen: "Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you..."
Bill: "No need to apologize. I was just struck by an idea. Now I believe I am booked for Cabin #1... If you'll excuse me..."
Bill: "Head to my cabin... Unless I find something more interesting on the way..."
Karen: Yep. This is going to be a fun month.
The next guest to arrive walks up the path just as Bill wandered towards his cabin.
The next guest to arrive walks up the path just as Bill wandered towards his cabin.
It's Jessica Brown, Simself of Jes2G, writer of the Pruett Family Legacy and a couple of other newer stories.
Wanting to enjoy some peace and quiet before the place really fills up, Jessica heads toward her cabin. And sees an unusual sight almost immediately.
Jessica: Should I say hello?
Bill: This is MY song!
Bill: This is MY song!
Jessica: Man, this place is beautiful. Oh good there's my cabin.
Hmm... Wonder who my roommate will be...
Looks like this might be my last chance to have the TV to myself. I think I'll enjoy it while I can.
Awesome! Simton Abbey is on!
